The Journal of Economic, Finance Research and Review (JEFRR) is strongly committed to maintaining the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in academic publishing. This publication ethics and malpractice statement provides a transparent guide for authors, reviewers, editors, and all stakeholders, drawing on best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and international scholarly publishing guidelines.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must submit only original work that has not been previously published or is not under review elsewhere. All sources must be appropriately cited, and plagiarism—including self-plagiarism, data fabrication, and improper reuse of text or figures—is strictly prohibited.

  • Authorship: Authorship must be limited to those who have made significant contributions to the research, drafting, and final approval of the manuscript. Others who assisted with the research or manuscript but do not meet authorship criteria should be acknowledged.

  • Transparency and Data Integrity: Authors must present data, methods, and findings transparently and ensure data accuracy and reproducibility. Any errors discovered post-submission must be promptly communicated to the editorial office.

  • Conflict of Interest: Authors must disclose all financial or personal relationships that could influence the research or its interpretation. All sources of funding should be recognized.

  • Multiple or Redundant Submission: Simultaneous submission of the same research to more than one journal or publication of substantially similar work is considered unethical and will not be tolerated.

Responsibilities of Editors

  • Editorial Independence: Editors make decisions based on the manuscript’s academic merit, originality, and relevance, without regard to the authors’ background or affiliations.

  • Confidentiality: Manuscript information must remain confidential and not be disclosed to anyone outside the editorial and review process.

  • Ethical Vigilance: Editors are responsible for investigating all allegations of misconduct and upholding the integrity of the scholarly record. If necessary, corrections, retractions, or editorial expressions of concern will be issued in accordance with COPE guidelines.

  • Conflict of Interest: Editors will recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.

Responsibilities of Reviewers

  • Objectivity and Confidentiality: Reviews must be objective, constructive, and free from personal criticism. Reviewers must keep all submitted materials confidential and not use unpublished data for personal advantage.

  • Ethical Reporting: Reviewers should alert editors to any suspected ethical concerns, including plagiarism, duplication, or data anomalies.

  • Disclosures: Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest before accepting a review assignment and may decline if a conflict exists.

Responsibilities of the Publisher

  • Integrity and Oversight: The publisher collaborates with editors to investigate and address allegations of research, authorship, or publication misconduct in a timely and transparent manner.

  • Permanent Accessibility: The publisher ensures that all articles remain accessible and preserved through reliable archiving systems.

Handling Misconduct

In cases of suspected or proven misconduct (e.g., plagiarism, data manipulation, authorship fraud), JEFRR will:

  • Promptly initiate an investigation, maintaining due process and confidentiality.

  • Contact authors/institutions for explanation or correction.

  • Withdraw, correct, or retract published articles as necessary, and inform relevant bodies if warranted.

Inclusivity and Non-Discrimination

JEFRR is dedicated to an inclusive publishing environment and does not tolerate discrimination on the basis of gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, or any personal characteristic.
