Aims and Scope

JEFRR — Journal of Economic, Finance Research and Review

The Journal of Economic, Finance Research and Review (JEFRR) publishes peer-reviewed research in economics and finance. We are interested in empirically rigorous, methodologically careful work — work that uses appropriate identification strategies for causal claims, that takes statistical inference seriously, that is transparent about data and code, and that contributes to a substantive literature.

We publish original empirical research, theoretical and methodological contributions, replication and extension studies, systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and policy-relevant applied work. Both micro- and macro-economic research are in scope, as are quantitative and historical-institutional approaches.

The journal's scope covers:

  • Microeconomics, including labor economics, health economics, education economics, behavioral economics, industrial organization, public economics, and applied econometrics
  • Macroeconomics, including growth, monetary policy, fiscal policy, international trade, and macroeconomic modeling
  • Finance, including corporate finance, asset pricing, behavioral finance, market microstructure, household finance, and financial intermediation
  • Banking and financial regulation, including banking crises, financial stability, regulatory design, and supervisory practice
  • Development economics, including poverty and inequality, economic development, institutions, and impact evaluation of development programs
  • International finance, including exchange rates, capital flows, financial integration, and international monetary systems
  • Econometric methodology, including identification strategies, machine learning in econometrics, and methodological essays on credible inference
  • Public policy economics, including taxation, welfare programs, environmental economics, and regulatory economics
  • Economic history, including long-run growth, financial history, and historical analyses of economic policy

We welcome registered reports, pre-registered confirmatory work, and replication studies — these are treated as substantive contributions, not secondary.

What we do not publish: short opinion pieces without an empirical basis, articles that present descriptive statistics without identification or causal framing where causal claims are made, or theoretical models that are not connected to data in any verifiable way.
